A Technical Officer position is available in Monash University SunwayCampus. The Science Laboratory serves as a core scientific resource facilityfor teaching andresearch purposes in the School of Arts and Sciences. The TechnicalOfficer willassists the Laboratory Manager in the general maintenance andoperation of a total of15 multidisciplinary teaching and research laboratories workingwithin a team of 17Laboratory Technicians, one Administrative Officer and threeLaboratory Cleaners. TheTechnical Officer reports directly to the Science Laboratory Manager.
ResponsibilityProvide technical support for undergraduate teaching:
- Assist in the preparation and collection of material forundergraduate classes.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Ensure adherence to correct safety policies and proceduresduring the handling ofpotentially hazardous chemical and biological agents.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Bachelor Degree is desirable but a basic Science background withat least a MLT /STPM / SPM or equivalent with comparable laboratory experience may besubstituted for tertiary education.
2. Ability to understand and interpret written material of a fairlytechnical natureincluding chemical and biological terminology.
